The Stage

“Extraordinarily effective. Absorbing and unnerving”

“A unique and affecting experience both terrifying and comical in the same breath. Two melancholy and exhilarating plays that leave their mark long after you have left the theatre”

Everything Theatre

This exhilarating Double Bill comprised the London premiere of Howard Barker’s The Twelfth Battle of Isonzo, featuring the voice of celebrated NT and RSC actor Nicholas Le Prevost in a groundbreaking binaural sound design and immersive blackout plunging spectators into the sensory experience of the two blind characters, paired with a timely revival of Judith starring acclaimed actress Catherine Cusack. This £34,000 ACE GFTA-funded project included Arcola’s first ever touch tour and audio-described performance for blind and partially-sighted audiences.

”Rising director Robyn Winfield-Smith seems fearless with her choices, and she must be, to deliver such an astonishing experience. Talented actors, a beautiful stage production. An exhilarating theatrical gem”

The Upcoming
